Travel Back In Time With Retro Sweets

Posted by Michael Parker  |  Posted in Chocolate  |  Posted on: 25-11-2009

We are considered very fortunate today because in terms of food and drink, we are presented with so many choices that we sometimes don’t even know which ones to pick. As our technology progressed, so did the various selections of foods such as sweets, sodas, pastries and so much more. It is very thrilling to think that whenever we crave for them, we can find them anywhere such as the grocery, the store at the corner, and online shops.

No matter what kinds of food we love, we can surely find something as we have so many choices. We can have them in different sizes, colors, shapes, and even which country they should come from.

Using the wonders of express mail, we can try the foods of places we have only read about. Whether we want glistening yellow mangoes of Asia, bittersweet chocolates in sweet hampers from Africa or creamy cheeses of Europe, we can have them fast.

This maybe our opinion since we are born of this time but how about our grandparents? While we are happily indulging in some of our favorite lollies, do we ever wonder what was it like during our grandparents’ time? If we give them our favorite sweets today, will they love it too and feel the same nostalgia we feel whenever we have some of it? Like us, our grandparents were young once too. Surely they went through the same phase as us. But don’t we want to know how different are our sweets now from theirs back then?

All of these may be answered by our grandparents. We can always ask them what it feels like. We can watch their expressions change as they reminisce wonderful childhood and the memories of a dozen treats from their mother’s sweet hampers. Maybe then they can tell us the difference between the sweets we have now and the treats they have then when their bodies were young and nimble. Or we can experience them ourselves. We can try it by indulging in sweet hampers filled with retro sweets.

When we think of classic treats, we should only have retro sweets. And if we present them to our grandparents, we will be surely loved even more.If we will experience bliss, nostalgia or pure happiness, there’s only one way to find out. So let’s celebrate what we have today together with what our grandparents had back then. Let’s go back in time by indulging with retro sweets-filled sweet hampers.

Sweet Hampers Make Forgiveness Easier

Posted by Michael Parker  |  Posted in Chocolate  |  Posted on: 18-11-2009

Nobody’s perfect. That being said, no matter how people love someone and try their best to care for them, they could still hurt them sometimes. In friendship, friends hurt each other’s feelings unintentionally. Each one may feel betrayed and it causes the friendship to fizzle.

For lovers, no matter how in love they are, they can still do things that are hurtful to the other. They still get jealous, they sometimes doubt the other’s intentions, and accusations sometimes go wrong. When lovers get hurt, they become distant from each other. These can go as far as to not communicating with one another for days or weeks on end.

However, it is human nature that when people strongly love someone, they find ways to make amends. When people realize they made a mistake, they pack up the courage to ask for a sincere and heartfelt apology.

Apologies don’t come easy though. Sometimes a person gets hurt so badly that he or she cannot forgive that easily. Others, however, have the ability to quickly accept a sorry and leave the past behind. But no matter the degree of hurt people inflict their loved ones, their apologies should always be sincere as spring day and as sweet as candies-filled sweet hampers. When these two are paired, in no time hurts will heal and the past forgotten.

When a person is hurt, he or she becomes sad, resentful, angry or even depressed. However, almost everyone knows that a little bit of sweet old- fashioned sweets always do the trick. That is why, it is not surprising when people are in a foul mood or they are down in the dumps, they always gobble a handful of chocolates! Some even go as far as storing sweet hampers filled with almost every candy they like.

Chocolates particularly contain phenylephylamine, a kind of hormone released by the brain when people are falling in love. It is clear then that sweet hampers filled with a dozen kinds of chocolates will make any apology easier.

However, to truly apologize, people should admit to their faults and ask for forgiveness sincerely. Pairing this with roses and sweet hampers would be good, too. People know that nobody can resist the charm of flowers and sweets, especially when being used to ask for forgiveness. And so, in apologizing, sincere words and sweet hampers will make it easier.

Visiting Families- A Sweet Gesture Like Christmas Sweets

Posted by Michael Parker  |  Posted in Chocolate  |  Posted on: 13-11-2009

Some people don’t stay very long in one place. That’s because their jobs, businesses, and other reasons force them to be constantly on the move. If they always move from one place to another, they wouldn’t really get the chance to make real friends and won’t have a lot of time to spend with new found peers and neighbors.

To some people, this lifestyle is very exciting. They feel thrilled with the fact that they will experience new adventures in this new place. These people are the kind who love meeting new friends, discovering new places, learning new cultures and speak a different language. And when they have to go on again, they wouldn’t have problems letting go of people they meet and things they learn to love.

But there are some people too who don’t like this kind of set up. For them, friends, peers and relative should always be around and their relationships with them nurtured. The familiarity and comfort that these people and places bring are the ones that make them want to stay in one place. For them, living with the people they know bring comfort and self-assurance. They feel confident and at home knowing that they could always spend the weekend with friends and share foods like Christmas sweets to neighbors and peers.

When Christmas season comes, those who love adventure and travel won’t have any troubles finding a cool place to spend Christmas with. But for those people who want to be home for Christmas, they would surely feel down and depressed if they have to spend the holidays alone. At this point, surely there are no Christmas sweets sent to them would make them feel better.

The abundance of Christmas sweets such as sherbet and candy canes is made more delightful when shared with cousins and friends. When neighbors, colleagues and relatives are around, Christmas dinner becomes more special. For these people, there is no greater joy than spending Christmas with their loved ones. Once they know they are not alone, they feel so much joy it’s as if they have eaten sweets from Christmas hampers all year round.

So if people want to be with family, friends and loved ones during the holidays, they should pay visit to them and not just send Christmas sweets. There is nothing more enjoyable than to be at home and spend time with loved ones during Christmas eve. And surrounded by the Christmas tree, decors, Christmas sweets and familiar faces, the yuletide season becomes meaningful and joyful.
